I decided to respond to Elina Brotherus' work of figures in dramatic
landscapes. Instead of usuing dramatic landscapes as these are hard to
come by in London, I decided to use a familiar landscape to the models,
as my work is about the relationship between them and thier environment.
Her images have a sense of stillness that i wanted to replicate in my
own images.
I also wanted to contrast and so responded to Jaques Henri Lartigues images on beaches which, differently to Brotherus' work, show extreme emotion and expression in the positioning of the subjects. I think its interesting how much this change alters the whole photograph
