Nan Goldin has been huge inspiration to me since I saw her Ballad of Sexual Dependancy presented at the Tate Modern in a slideshow. This is due to her profound and intimate portrayl of the emotions of the people she photographs as well as her true representation of controversial and raw subject matter, covering the themes of love, gender, sexuality and domesticity. What was mostly inspiring was how her images are snapshot aesthetic, using available light, however they are still as powerful as any set up image, if not more.
